CORONARY ANGIOGRAPHY
WHY IS CORONARY ANGIOGRAPHY NOT PERFORMED UNDER GENERAL ANESTHESIA ?
A coronary angiogram is a completely painless examination which only requires local anesthesia.
An anesthetist is present throughout the procedure in order to administer any medication that you may need in order to help you relax and to relieve your anxiety.
During the procedure, you may communicate with the anesthetist or the cardiologist. If you wish, you may also watch your coronary arteries in real time on the X-ray screen.
